2001
NYC Marathon
We were up at 4:30 and at the start by 6:30am race started at 10:50.
The staging area had live music, food, coffee, water, and 30,000 runners.
After waiting for 4 hours at the start we are ready to run!
We wait at the start, that's Dave with the Flag.
Near the 1st mile, Dave runs proudly with the Flag!
Uncle Sam was out too!
At mile 8 thru Brooklyn.
This is me at mile 10 or 11.
Darren caught me at mile 11 & he helped me keep pace for about 8 miles until I slowed up.
He finished strong with a negative split, What an awesome 1st marathon for him!
At mile 19 we left Manhattan for the Bronx
